Welcome to Philadelphia Legacy Fastpitch Softball
Becoming a Legacy Softball Team Member:
Who We Are: Legacy is a competitive softball team made up of female athletes who are mostly in High School. Some exceptions may be made for exceptional players in upper-middle schools grades.
Who We Serve: We will never turn away interested athletes. However, our primary mission is to serve players who have the skills, talent, and drive but lack the resources to pursue competitive softball.
How to Join: There are three ways to become eligible: Open Tryouts, Recruited, Summer Softball participation.
Open tryouts are held in August and February and are open to the public
Recruited can happen at any time of the year. Coaches/Players can recruit, the recruited player will then be invited to a private tryout.
Summer Softball: Summer Softball runs from late June to mid-August. Players meet on Saturdays for practice, scrimmages, and clinics. Based on performance, attendance, attitudes, players are invited to attend our August tryouts.
Seasonal Dates: Team will play and practice from September to October 31st (Fall). Then we transition to indoor workouts from November to February (Winter). Then we practice and play from March until late June (Spring).
DEVELOPING A COLLEGE MINDSET
As a Legacy member, players can earn an opportunity to receive a college prospect camp sponsorship. We are not driven by the idea of earning scholarships through universities. The idea behind these visits is to expose our players to the college and campus life.
To date, our players have attended camps hosted by Drexel University, University of Pennsylvania, East Stroudsburg University, Holy Family University, Widener University, and Rutgers University.
LEGACY means, "Leaving a memorable and lasting impression on those that will follow in your footsteps". We want youth in our community to leave a legacy of hope, inspiration, and perseverance.
Our slogan, LIVE, LOVE, LEAD Legacy is the understanding that who they are is how they will be remembered, every day they must live in the way they want to be remembered and finally, they must love who they are and what they stand for.
Chant: “NOTHING GIVEN, EVERYTHING EARNED” Is all about knowing that your hard work, commitment to excellence, and the dedication to improving are keys to success.
