The Legacy Lab currently focuses on four areas where participants can engage in hands-on activities: Sports Management, Multimedia Productions, Business Development, and STEAM Careers.
Sport management involves any combination of skills related to planning, organizing, directing, controlling, budgeting, leading, and evaluating within the context of an organization or department whose primary product or service is related to sport or physical activity
Multimedia Productions is any sort of production that uses imagery and a combination of text, audio, and graphics to tell a story. This story might be the sale of a product, or it might be the narration of an event. It can be educational or it can be artistic or both, or all of the above.
Business Development is the creation of a plan that outlines the business idea from inception to launch. Youth motivated by the idea of being self-employed will explore the non-profit and for-profit models. The focus will be to create a business plan around a concept the student is passionate about.
STEAM represents an educational approach that emphasizes the following fields: science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. STEAM integrates arts, innovation, and design into STEM education, and STEAM activities are cross-disciplinary and project-based. STEAM lessons encourage students to explore the world around them, develop and create innovative solutions to problems, think deeply, work collaboratively, and communicate their results.
