Going to college is the path most often talked about. Ask any high school student what they plan on doing after high school and many will say, "I'm going to college".  The typical follow-up, "For what?".  This is the question that paralyzes many high school students. They are not sure what questions to ask, how to choose the right classes or majors, they don't have a clear picture of what their future looks like and how to utilize college to achieve their goals.

Sports for Juvenile Justice (SJJ). SJJ is a collaborative initiative that seeks to place at-risk youth, who have already been adjudicated in court, into our sports-based youth programs. We are devoted to solving the incarceration crisis by building a community of strong children through athletics and leadership development. We work closely with the Philadelphia Family Court staff and related providers who place youth into our programs. We are currently running basketball, and football drills. In the future, we plan on adding fitness, self-defense, soccer, and volleyball.  In addition, we are looking to add volunteer and community service opportunities.

Sports are seen as a way to develop communities. It often provides youth with somewhere safe to congregate, and it usually fosters community spirit. However, providing sports opportunities alone cannot fix the gender and financial inequality. We need to do more than just get kids off the streets. We want to establish a gateway for elite athletes living in impoverished, low-income, and disadvantaged communities to transition from recreational sports to college, professional and Olympic level training and competition.

Our goal is to be an impactful Education Movement led by members of the community. We are inspired by the belief that everyday people can shape and mold a society where everyone can achieve their true potential.

We’re ready for something better. Our transformative approach mobilizes people from all walks of life to take action and create a meaningful and lasting impact.
